Quick Start Guide

Welcome to Broadcast! This guide will help you get up and running in just a few minutes.

1. Create Your Account

If you haven’t already, sign up for a free account. You’ll be asked to provide:

  • Your email address
  • A password
  • Your name (optional)

After signing up, you’ll be taken to your dashboard.

2. Complete Your Setup

You’ll see an onboarding checklist on your dashboard. Complete these steps:

Configure Your Profile

Add your name so your emails have a personal touch.

Set Up Your Sender Details

Configure your “From” name and email address. This is what recipients will see when they receive your emails.

Connect an Email Server

Broadcast supports multiple email providers:

  • Amazon SES - Great for high volume, cost-effective sending
  • SendGrid - Easy setup, reliable delivery
  • Mailgun - Developer-friendly API
  • Postmark - Excellent for transactional emails
  • Resend - Modern, developer-focused
  • Custom SMTP - Any SMTP server

For testing, you can use our built-in test email server.

3. Add Your First Subscribers

There are several ways to add subscribers:

Manual Entry

Go to Subscribers and click Add Subscriber. Enter an email address and any optional data.

CSV Import

Go to Subscribers > Import to upload a CSV file with your existing list.

Opt-in Forms

Create embeddable forms at Opt-in Forms > New Form and add them to your website.

API

Use our REST API to add subscribers programmatically.

4. Send Your First Broadcast

  1. Go to Broadcasts and click New Broadcast
  2. Choose your recipients (all subscribers or a specific segment)
  3. Write your subject line and email content
  4. Preview your email and send a test
  5. Click Send to deliver to your subscribers

5. Set Up Automation (Optional)

Create an automated welcome sequence:

  1. Go to Sequences and click New Sequence
  2. Name it “Welcome Sequence”
  3. Add steps with delays between them
  4. Enable the sequence

New subscribers can be automatically enrolled when they join through opt-in forms.
